The state funeral for Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, is to be screened at Sandy Park Conference Centre on Monday, September 19.

As one of a number of locations around the city formally asked to show the funeral live, members of the public are invited to come together as one to pay their respects.

Free tickets for the screening are available by clicking here - with the doors at Sandy Park opening from 9am in the day of the funeral. Food and refreshments, together with toilet facilities, will be available throughout the course of the day, as well as limited on-site parking.

Members of the public who attend the Sandy Park screening will be given a designated room with the Conference Centre from which to watch the event. Entry points will be clearly in operation and must be adhered to.

Monday, September 19, the day of the state funeral, will be a bank holiday. The funeral service is due to start at 11am at Westminster Abbey in London – the historic church where kings and queens are crowned.

The last state funeral was held for Sir Winston Churchill in 1965. The state funeral of George VI, Queen Elizabeth’s father, took place in 1952.

More details will be released on the arrangements in the coming days.
